        On September 20-21, IEEE Energy Storage Technology Meeting 2024 was held in Xiong'an, Hebei Province. The event was co-hosted by Guangzhou Zhiguang Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd. and IEEE PES Energy Storage and Stationary Battery Committee (China), Institute of Electrical Engineering of Chinese Academy of Sciences and lots of industry-leading enterprises, universities and colleges. The meeting brought together diverse stakeholders to discuss the future of energy storage in China's emerging future city.


        Jiang Xinyu, Executive Vice President of Guangzhou Zhiguang Electric Co., Ltd. and Chairman of Guangzhou Zhiguang Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd (short as Zhiguang Energy Storage), attended the meeting as the Vice Chairman of the 2nd IEEE PES Energy Storage and Stationary Battery Committee and delivered a special report on Single Unit 100MW Level Grid-Type Cascaded High-Voltage Energy Storage System.

        Jiang Xinyu presented the R&D and application achievements of Zhiguang Energy Storage in grid-type energy storage systems. He covered the development status of renewable energy industry, technical solutions of cascaded high-voltage systems, technical advantages, and demonstration project construction.

        Zhiguang Energy Storage's Single Unit 100MW Level Grid-Type Cascaded High-Voltage Energy Storage System offers several advantages. Firstly, it boasts a high conversion efficiency of over 90%; secondly, it has robust operational characteristics, capable of simulating the control modes of synchronous generators. This provides essential frequency and inertia support for power systems dominated by new energy sources.

        The Grid-Type Cascaded High-Voltage Energy Storage System offers enhanced support capabilities for the power grid and reduced control complexity. With only a a few PCS systems, it ensures low control difficulty and rapid response, aligning well with the fast response control requirements of the power systems for grid-type energy storage systems.
